Rebuilding the Gut God’s Way – Without Obsession

I used to think healing was all about discipline.

If I could just be strict enough...  cut some foods…  drink enough green teas…  pray hard enough… then maybe, just maybe, my skin would clear, and my gut would be healed.

But healing doesn’t happen under pressure. It happens under “Grace”.

 🧠 Obsession or Obedience?

There’s a thin line between wisdom and worry.  And I crossed it many times.

I’ve obsessed over what is right for my body. Felt guilt over one bite of bread.  Worried after eating something not “on plan.”  Fast-tracked detoxes out of fear - not faith.

But God never called me to obsess. He called me to surrender.

 “Be still and know that I am God.” – Psalm 46:10

In stillness, I learned to listen to my body.  
In surrender, I began rebuilding my gut gently, slowly, and in alignment with peace.

🧬 What Rebuilding Looks Like

Rebuilding your gut is less about rules - and more about rhythm & synergy.

Here’s what worked for me:

- 🌱 Adding in gut-healing foods like fermented veggies, bone broth, and resistant starches (not just removing things)
- 🧘🏾♀ Prioritising rest & nervous system regulation
- 💦 Drinking herbal teas, not just trendy supplements
- 💬 Speaking kindly over my body - no more “what is this” declarations
- 🍽 Eating with peace, not panic
- 🙏🏾 Praying over my meals, digestion, and most importantly trusting my body to yield

I call it the “Healing Synergy” - and it brought back more than just my skin. It brought me total transformation.


🚫 What I Had to Let Go Of

- Fear of flare-ups  
- Obsessive symptom-checking  
- Comparison with other people’s healing timelines
- Comparison with other people’s clear skin

Every time I let go of control, God filled that space with grace. And guess what? My gut began to heal. My skin began to thrive, and my mind had clarity.

Gut Healing Is Spiritual

I can’t talk about gut healing without including God. It was Him who gave me discernment on what to eat. It was Him who showed me peace wasn’t found in a food tracker, but in His presence. It was Him who reminded me:

And by His stripes we are healed – Isaiah 53:5

Yes, we use wisdom. But we also rest in grace.

🌿 Practical Things to Start Today

- Be intentional about your nutrition. Eat slowly. Chew well. Breathe deeply.  
- Stop fearing food. Trust your body is healing.  
- Drink herbal infusions daily.  
- Avoid perfectionism - but still have self-control though
- Get sunshine and move your body.  
- Journal. Pray. And be kind to yourself.
